RESUMO Este estudo teve por objetivo determinar o estoque de madeira por amostragem sistemática e pelas tecnologias de geoinformação a fim de elaborar mapas de produtividade florestal, como forma de pós-estratificação do inventário florestal. Foram alocadas 24 parcelas de 625 m2 posicionadas a cada 70 m de distância. O mapa de produtividade foi gerado após seleção de um modelo para ajuste do semivariograma entre os volumes das parcelas. Estimou-se um volume total de 3.753,9 m3 com o inventário florestal por amostragem sistemática, enquanto com o mapa de produtividade elaborado com técnicas de silvicultura de precisão determinou-se um volume total de 3.768,9 m3. A análise de variância comprovou que existe diferença significativa entre as médias dos estratos e a partir desta constatação as estimativas foram geradas por estrato, estimando-se então, um volume total de 3.772,9 m3. A técnica de silvicultura de precisão mostrou ser uma ferramenta eficiente na pós-estratificação de inventários florestais.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the wood stock through systematic sampling and geoinformation technologies in order to elaborate maps of forest productivity as a forest post-stratification inventory. We positioned 24 plots of 625 m2 each ina distance of 70 m from each other. The yield map was generated after selecting a model for semivariogram adjustment between volumes in the plots. A 3,753.9 m3 total volume was estimated in the forest inventory through systematic sampling, while the yield map produced with precision forestry techniques showed a total volume of 3,768.9 m3. The analysis of variance showed that there is a significant difference between the means of the strata and based on this fact, the estimates were generated per stratum, then the total volume of 3,772.9 m3 was estimated. The precision forestry technique proved to be an efficient tool in the post-stratification of forest inventories.

RESUMO Este trabalho foi realizado na Floresta Nacional de São Francisco de Paula, RS, e teve como objetivo avaliar a periodicidade do crescimento das árvores de Araucaria angustifolia, correlacionando-a com variáveis meteorológicas. O comportamento do crescimento foi obtido partindo do acompanhamento quinzenal de periodicidade por meio da instalação de cintas dendrométricas à altura do peito de 48 árvores femininas e 48 árvores masculinas, avaliadas durante o período de agosto de 2003 a agosto de 2006. Os resultados deste trabalho permitiram concluir que o início do crescimento anual em diâmetro das árvores ocorre em setembro, tendo seu pico no mês de janeiro, começando a decrescer a partir de março. As variáveis meteorológicas, como temperatura e precipitação, estão diretamente correlacionadas com o incremento. O aumento da temperatura e da precipitação influi positivamente no incremento e a ocorrência de precipitação acompanhada de temperaturas baixas reduz o crescimento em diâmetro.

ABSTRACT This study was conducted at São Francisco de Paula National Forest, in the state of RS, Brazil, and had as its objective the evaluation of the periodicity growth of Araucaria angustifolia trees, and correlation with meteorological variables. Growth was measured biweekly in 48 female trees and 48 male trees using dendrometric bands installed at breast height. The results allowed us to conclude that the trees’ annual growth in DBH starts in September, reaching its peak in January and starting to decrease in March, being almost null after the third week of April. Meteorological variables, such temperature and precipitation, were directly correlated with the increment. The increase in temperature and precipitation positively influence the increment and precipitation followed by low temperatures reduce growth in diameter.

RESUMO O estudo realizado na Floresta Nacional de São Francisco de Paula, Rio Grande do Sul, teve como objetivos quantificar o número de indivíduos femininos e masculinos, de Araucaria angustifolia, bem como estudar a distribuição diamétrica, em floresta de 25,11 ha, com 60 anos de idade. A classificação por sexo foi realizada nos períodos de maturação dos componentes florais e o levantamento dendrométrico efetuado para obtenção do diâmetro e frequência, sobre toda a área amostral. A proporção relativa de indivíduos do sexo feminino foi de 43,65% e de 56,35% para o masculino; 65,3% das árvores estavam concentradas entre as classes de diâmetro de 35-45 cm. Não houve diferença significativa em diâmetro médio, sendo encontrado para o sexo feminino 42 cm e para o masculino 38,5 cm. A distribuição diamétrica obedeceu à distribuição normal, sendo que houve presença de maior número de indivíduos do sexo feminino nas maiores classes diamétricas e maiores quantidades de indivíduos masculinos nas menores classes.

ABSTRACT The study, conducted at São Francisco National Forest, in Rio Grande do Sul, had as objectives to quantify the number of female and male Araucaria angustifolia individuals, as well as to study the diametric distribution in a 25.11 ha of a 60 years old forest. The sex classification was done in the periods of floral components maturation, and the dendrometric survey was done in order to obtain the diameter and the frequency upon the total sampling area. There was no significative difference in average diameter, being 42 cm for female individuals and 38.5 cm for male individuals. The relative proportion of female individuals was of 43.65 % and 56.35 % for male individuals; 65.3 % of the trees were concentrated between the diametric classes of 35-45 cm. The diametric distribution followed the normal distribution, having a higher presence of female individuals in higher diametric classes and higher amounts of male individuals in lower classes.

RESUMO Em casa de vegetação do Centro Nacional de Pesquisa de Agrobiologia (CNPAB/EMBRAPA), foi avaliado o efeito da inoculação de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares (FMA) na produção de Peltogyne venosa e Sclerolobium paniculatum. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado com 4 tratamentos: (Glomus clarum Nicolson & Schenk, Gigaspora margarita Becker Hall, fungos nativos e testemunha - sem inoculação) e 25 repetições. Aos 168 dias após a germinação, observou-se que os tratamentos não influenciaram no crescimento das mudas, com exceção de P. venosa inoculadas com G. margarita tiveram uma maior produção de peso seco de raízes finas. Mudas de P. venosa e S. paniculatum inoculadas com G. clarum, fungos nativos respectivamente, tiveram as maiores percentagens de colonização micorrízica. Em ambas as espécies estudadas, as maiores percentagens de sobrevivência foram em mudas inoculadas com fungos nativos.

ABSTRACT In a greenhouse at the National Center of Research of Agrobiology (CNPAB/EMBRAPA), the effect of the inoculation of Arbuscular Micorrhizal Fungi (AMF) in the production of Peltogyne venosa and Sclerolobium paniculatum was evaluated. The experimental design was completely randomized with 4 treatments (Glomus clarum Nicolson & Schenk, Gigaspora margarita Becke Hall, native mycorrhizae and controls - without inoculation) and 25 repetitions. One hundred sixty-eight days after seed germination, it was observed that the treatments did not affect seedling growth, except for P. venosa inoculated with G. margarita, which had a larger production of dry weight of fine roots. Seedlings of P. venosa and S. paniculatum inoculated with G. clarum and native mycorrhizae had the largest percentages of micorrhizal colonization. In both species studied, the largest survival percentages were of seedlings inoculated with native mycorrhizae.

RESUMO O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o efeito da inoculação com Fungos Micorrízicos Arbusculares (FMA) no crescimento de duas leguminosas (Cassia leiandra e Chamaecrista desvauxii). O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos e vinte e cinco repetições. Os tratamentos foram: Clomus clarum (Nicolson & Schenk), Gigaspora margarita (Becker & Hall), Fungos Nativos e Testemunha (sem inoculação). As mudas foram cultivadas em substrato com composto orgânico, argila, areia e fosfato natural de rocha na proporção de 6:2:1:1. Cento e sessenta e oito dias após a germinação, foram avaliados diâmetro do colo, altura, biomassa aérea, biomassa subterrânea de raízes grossas e finas, percentagem de colonização micorrízicas. Apesar das mudas de Chamaecrista desvauxii terem apresentado maior percentagem de colonização micorrízica com Gigaspora margarita, não houve efeito da inoculação em nenhuma das variáveis avaliadas. Mudas de Cassia leiandra foram colonizadas igualmente por Glomus clarum, Gigaspora margarita e fungos nativos, no entanto incrementos de biomassa aérea e biomassa subterrânea de raízes finas foram observados apenas nas mudas inoculadas com Glomus clarum.

ABSTRACT The effect of the inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on the growth of two legume trees (Cassia leiandra and Chamaecrista desvauxii) was evaluated. The experimental design was completely randomized with four treatments and twenty-five repetitions. The treatments were: Glomus clarum (Nicolson & Schenk), Gigaspora margarita (Becker & Hall), Native Fungi and Control (without inoculation). The seedlings were cultivated in a substratum composed of compost, clay, sand and natural phosphate in the proportion of 6:2:1:1. One Hundred and sixty eight days after seed germination, stem diameter, height, above-ground biomass, below-ground biomass of thick and fine roots, and percent mycorrhizal colonization were evaluated. Although the roots of Chamaecrista desvauxii were colonized with Gigaspora margarita there was no effect of the inoculation on any of the variables measured. Seedlings of Cassia leiandra were colonized by all mycorrhizal fungy, however, there was an increase in the above-ground biomass and below-ground biomass of fine roots only on the seedlings inoculated with Glomus clarum.

RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar o desenvolvimento de mudas inoculadas ou não com fungos micorrízicos. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado com 4 tratamentos e 25 repetições. Os tratamentos foram: Glomus clarum (Nicolson & Schenk), Gigaspora margarita (Becker Hall), Fungos Nativos e Testemunha (sem inoculação). Não houve diferença estatística para altura, diâmetro e fitomassa aérea e subterrânea de raízes grossas em mudas de Copaifera martii. As maiores percentagens de comprimento de raízes finas colonizadas e taxa de sobrevivência foram obtidas com mudas inoculadas com G. margarita e G. clarum. No que se refere as mudas de Dimorphandra macrostachya não houve diferença estatística para os parâmetros estudados (altura, diâmetro, fitomassa aérea e subterrânea de raízes grossas e finas. A inoculação com G. margarita favoreceu a percentagem de colonização micorrrízica de raízes finas e a taxa de sobrevivência em mudas de Dimorphandra macrostachya.

ABSTRACT The present study aimed at evaluating the development of inoculated or noninoculated seedlings with mycorrhizal fungi. The experimental design used was completely randomized, with 4 treatments and 25 replacements. The treatments were: Glomus clarum (Nicolson & Schenk), Gigaspora margarita (Becker & Hall), Native Fungi and Control (without inoculation). There was no statistical difference for height, diameter, aerial and subterranean phytomasses of thick roots in Copaifera martii seedlings. The highest length percentage of colonized thin roots and the survival rate were obtained in inoculated seedlings with G. margarita and G. clarum. Concerning the seedlings of Dimorphandra macrostachya, there was no statistical difference for height, diameter, aerial and subterranean phytomasses of thick or thin roots. The inoculation with G. margarita favored the percentage of mycorrhizal colonization of thin roots and survival rate in Dimorphandra macrostachya seedlings.

RESUMO O presente trabalho teve como objetivo determinar o tamanho da amostra para experimentos de eucaliptos em viveiro. O Experimento foi instalado no Horto Florestal Barba Negra, em área de produção da Riocell S.A., localizada no município de Barra do Ribeiro - RS. Foram utilizados um total de 8 bandejas com 96 mudas por bandeja. As variáveis mensuradas foram: altura total da planta e diâmetro do colo medido com paquímetro graduado em milímetro. Os resultados mostram que o delineamento experimental deve ser o bloco ao acaso usando a bandeja como bloco e que o tamanho da amostra ideal é de 26 mudas por tratamento para uma diferença mínima significativa (d) de 10% e de 9 mudas por tratamento quando a diferença é de d=20% para a variável diâmetro das plantas. Para a variável altura o tamanho ideal é de 23 mudas para d=10% e de 8 mudas para d=20%. Para ambas as variáveis é impossível delinear um experimento para d=5%.

ABSTRACT The present paper work aimed at determinig the sample size for xperiments of Euca1iptus saligna SMITH in the tree nursery. The experiment was establisbed at Barba Negra Forest Reserve located in the production area of Riocell S.A. in Barra do Ribeiro - RS. To determine the sample size, a total of eight blocks with ninety six seedlings each block were used. The measured variables were: the plant total height and the diameter of the connecting point of root and stem easured by a millimeter graduated pachymeter. It was observed that the results obtained in the pe nursery show that the experimental design must be the block at random, using the tray as a block. The size of the ideal sample to variable diameter is the one with 26 seedlings for each tratment with significant minimum difference of 10% and nine seedlings for each treatment when e difference goes to 20%. To the height variable the size of the ideal sample is 23 seedlings with d = 10% and eight seedlings when the difference goes to 20%. It is impossible to delineate an experiment when the difference goes to 5% to both variables.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi estimar o tamanho ótimo de parcelas experimentais de Eucalyptus saligna Smith, aos 15 meses de idade e aos 5 anos e meio de idade. Os experimentos foram instalados no Horto Florestal Barba Negra em área de produqdo da empresa Riocell S/A, localizada no município de Barra do Ribeiro - RS. O método utilizado para determinação do tamanho ótimo de parcelas foi o de Pimentel Gomes - ESALQ/USP. Os resultados demonstram que o tamanho ótimo de parcelas para plantas com 5 anos e meio de idade é de 9 a 25 plantas úteis medidas, e para o experimento com 15 rneses de idade a parcela ideal é de 4 plantas.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the experimental plots size of Eucalyptus saligna Smith with 5.5 years old and for fifteen months old. The experiment were stablished in Barba Negra Garden Market located in Barra do Ribeiro District, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. The Pimentel Gomes - E S ALQ/USP method's was used. It was observed that the optimal experimental plots size may range from 9 to 25 plantas for five year old trees and four plants to 15 m onths old.

Este trabalho teve como objetivo estudar a forma do tronco do Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden, para estimativas de sortimentos. Os dados foram obtidos pela cubagem de árvores amostras com idades entre 6 e 7 anos, pelo método de Smalian, em quatro hortos florestais localizados na Depressão Central e Encosta do Sudeste do Rio Grande do Sul. Os valores de diâmetro e altura observados ao longo dos troncos foram ajustados, com o emprego do procedimento Forward de regressão, a modelos matemáticos para descrever a forma das árvores, tendo a seleção dos modelos sido realizada através do coeficiente de determinação (R²), do erro padrão da estimativa em percentagem (Syx%), bem como pela análise de resíduos. As melhores estimativas foram obtidas com o modelo: di/d = b0 + b1 (h i/h) + b2h i/h)² + b3(h i/h)³, o qual apresentou R² de 0,9577 e Syx de 8,14 %.

The present work had for objective study taper of Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden, forassortment estimations. Data was collected in 4 properties of company Riocell S.A distributed along several municipalities of the Central Depression and Southeast Slope of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The trees sampled were 6 to 7 years old, and were cubated by the Smaliam Method. The data was adjusted to a mathematic model to desenhe the trees taper, using the forward regression procedure. In the selection of the mathematic model the statistics coefficient of determination (R²), standard error in percentage (Syx %) as well as the residue analysis of the models were considered. The best estimation was obtained with the model: d i/ d = b0 + b1(h i/h) + b2(h i/h)² + b3(h i/h)³, with R² = 0.9577 and Syx = 8.14 %.
